About Us

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and The Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing, we invite you to join us for an educational program entitled “Managing Cardiovascular Disease in Women: Are we Failing Their Hearts?”

The focus of this CME/CE program is to assist you in bridging the treatment gap between established clinical guidelines and actual patient care. Our steering committee of nationally-recognized  experts have designed the content to assist you and your staff with implementing evidence-based guidelines to improve outcomes in women with cardiovascular disease, as well as with measures to identify and prevent this number one killer of women.  Johns Hopkins will provide this accredited program as well as educational materials on the web to assist busy primary care practices in guideline implementation and recognition of this unmet need in women’s health care.

A series of eight meetings took place in the fall of 2005, and we hope to conduct 20 more 3-hour CME/CE-accredited symposia in 2006.  Attendees of these live events are eligible for up to 3 CME / 3.6 CE credits, authenticated by a certificate of participation from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine or the Institute for Johns Hopkins Nursing.

In addition, we have developed a comprehensive resource website that will have slides, streaming video from the live events, patient information, downloadable screening and diagnostic tools, links to CVD websites, access to CME/CE programs and more!  The website is http://www.WomensHearts.org, and we urge you to register with us, bookmark it on your computer, and share it with your colleagues and patients.

To register to participate in the live events or to access our CME/CE web page, please go to http://www.CVDinWomen.com.

We hope that you will participate in this timely and important program, and utilize the website as a means to improve the cardiovascular care of women in your practice!

Best regards,
